Lesson 3: Know your competitor

Welcome back.

Here's the next step to do before starting constructing your webpages.

You have known how to look for the profitable keywords and phrases. In business, knowing your potential market is not enough. You need to know how much competition you will be facing in this business.

Of course, ideally, you would like to have as little competition as possible. That's why you need to find a niche.

Next question is how to know my competitor? Well, remember how we found out profitable keywords, we will make use of search engine again.

Here's the 1-2-3 steps:

1. Go to Google website.

2. Type your keywords or phrases into Google search box and click "Search".

3. You can see the number of competiting websites at the lower right hand color, the number is 74,000,000 websites competing for the keywords "search engine optimization".



Now, writing down the number of competing websites next each keywords.

Look through the list, you have both the search count & number of competing websites for each keywords.

Your task now is to look for the keywords or phrases with highest search count AND lowest competing websites. Because that means highest demand and lowest competition, that's what you want.

Select the top 5 keywords that meet the criteria above as keyword phrases for your website

Congratulation. You are done with market analysis.
